Louis Heloise

Mike's work in progress is now at the stage of planking the deck. Each plank is 10mm wide and 2mm thick, which Mike has made from an old wardrobe door! Each "caulking" strip is 1mm wide, painted black along the top edge.

It is built from plans of the Louis Heloise, a French fishing boat of the early 1900s. Started by my dad, who passed it Mike, as a keel and frames, planked half way up the hull.  Dad would be so pleased to know that Mike is carrying on with it.

The extra photos show more detail. All the rivet heads are tiny brass pins.
