The Thunderstone

We're back in Shap, this time with son R because he and I are attempting to fill in our geocaching DT grid. This will be unintelligible to those non geocachers out there but the simple explanation is that we are trying to find caches with different attributes of difficulty as regards terrain and how easy they are to find. We've only a few very difficult ones left.  Today we bagged one in Maulds Meaburn then R hoovered some easier ones I'd already found on our way back to Shap for lunch. This is the Thunderstone with R about to search a small cliff below it. The stone is the first major stone in The Shap Avenue - a line of ancient boulders  in an area of many stone circles. We stopped at the Galloway Stone a but further on - extra.  I do wonder what the ancients were up to to round here.
