All Ears

Loveable, cuddly and very cute, young Watson is staying with us for a couple of nights. Our dogs aren't too impressed!

Carnage in the garden recently as a sparrowhawk has taken numerous birds. We've piles of feathers all around and most distressingly one of them is woodpecker. I need to do a stake out to see which woodie is left as not sure of the victim at the moment. I saw him whilst I was in my hide yesterday - a brown streak flashing through, though today is windy so he may have more difficulty with his flight path.

Did anyone look out of the window this morning. My goodness we had such a spectacle at 4am. There were 5 planets lined up, a planet parade, accompanied by a crescent moon. Wonderful to witness.

We couldn't see Mercury because of trees near the horizon in the distance but in a line we had Venus, the moon,  Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. If we had had a telescope we would have seen Neptune and Uranus but from our window they were too far away. It was quite magical to stand there and see the plants in alignment and easily spotted with the App. Light was breaking over the horizon and an owl hooted in the far woods. You did feel quite insignificant in the scheme of life.
