Life At Dragonfly Cottage

New Life...

I think it is profoundly magical when from dead dry sticks in the ground left from the dead growth of last year's perennials, looking as though nothing will ever grow again, tiny green shoots become barely visible, and then, in a matter of days, start thrusting up for all they're worth. Such has been the case, for the third year in a row, that this gorgeous thunbergia has come back in a very large pot just beside the steps up to my front door. These shoots will turn into an enormous plant drooping with purple bells and so lush and beautiful it take's one's breath away. But I love this time when new shoots spring up, a promise of all that is to come. Rebirth, renewal, it is spring again, even in my soul. A miracle and a blessing...
