crossing with tradition

one of the lesser known viennese traditions....is....that....

after the removal of the city walls and the widening of the roads it became obvious to those in power that certain roads were so wide that it became necessary to pause half way...and a number of folk are, still, employed by the council to carry, and offer, chairs to those in need...especially at the busier junctions and on warm days...it's a very kind tradition i think...
