Geilston gardens

Dry and sunny at 7pm this morning but by the time we were all ready to go the rain had started. It was decided to go west so we went to Geilston Gardens near Cardross. Just before we set off to walk round the garden the heavens opened and we had to shelter in the reception hut.  It didn't  last long so we set of into the vegetable garden row upon Row of vegetables. We just got to next bit when the rain  started again.  Angela ran to the car and got an umbrella so the four of us sheltered  under it. Rain off and we continued walking round the garden.  Lots fo woodland to walk through and then we reached what used to be the pond containing water which the used to water the plants. Lovely display of plants around it. We continued on through more  woodland to the walled garden and they had a lovely border packed with loads of plants that I didn't  know and plenty Hardy geraniums. There was a grass slope so Magnus decided to do a rolly polly down it and got his trousers soaked. We started our way home and thought some chips would be good but we couldn't find a chipshop  so we were quite near Braehead so we went to IKEA for meatballs.
A good day out despite  the showers.
