Fisherman, Agios Georgios

Our final day with a car started with a visit to the "Tombs of the Kings" , another Heritage Site where a number of tombs have been excavated in huge underground areas elaborately supported on stone columns - the whole place quite stunning to view. Then on along the coast via the rather gaudy and touristy Coral Bay to Agios Georgios with its beautiful church and quiet harbour. As we ate our lunch by the water this fisherman was rowing out to his boat and shortly set off for an afternoon at sea.
We completed our trip with a drive to Panagia, the birthplace of Archbishop Makarios, President of Cyprus after the Wars with Turkey. His impressive statue can be seen in the village square
