Candyland Rose

It’s a stunner. My pals, Griff ‘n Jayne, gave it to me in a one gallon pot when my Mum died on Christmas Day 2014. My Mum and Griff’s Mum were great friends.

It manages to flourish, even though all my other roses succumb to black spot, or powdery mildew, or black aphids, or (most heartbreakingly) deer chewing. Beasts! The deer have ravaged my potato patch, destroyed my strawberries and topped my dahlias. But my Mum’s Candyland Rose springs forth, unbothered.
