Tonight I went to watch 9 of the young lads from our 14-16's Youth Theatre group perform alongside Tumult in the Clouds Theatre Company in their double-bill Fleeto and Wee Andy, playing the parts of a local gang.

The plays are a hard-hitting exploration of knife crime, and not for the feint hearted. One of the boys said to me before it started ''There's lots of swearing in it!'' I told him I was sure I would cope, just about.

They did us proud, with great timing, energy, and performances!
