Kupala

Kupala once made a wreath of fern and wild flowers and boasted that no wind could blow it off her head. A gust of wind blew it off right into the river Ra. A young handsome man found it and according to the old Slavic tradition he had to marry Kupala. The young couple fell in love and realized they were brother and sister which made them kill themselves out of shame. The Gods turned them into flowers to honor their love. Kupala becomes alive every Summer Solstice, adorned with fern, wild flowers and summer dew, she brings hope to all in love. Hope for happy ending and a message that there is never late for love.
