Only in Australia - again

I have been driving in Australia for 55 years but I can safely say I have never before encountered a sign like this painted on the road. In fact while in Port Stephens we saw a number of them as well as smaller signs attached to poles (see extra). The Port Stephens area has a reasonably healthy koala population and, clearly, the locals want to keep it that way. The signs appear where koalas are likely to cross the road. Good for the locals.
