Simply a Cabbage Tree….

Most of the time I love cabbage trees aka Cordyline Australis. They are beautiful in the great outdoors, in rural areas, beside rivers and wetlands. But not in our garden. Past neighbours had a large one growing on our boundary. It was a very fine specimen but created such a lot of mess when it dropped old leaves. For a while I gathered up bunches of dry leaves, tied them into bundles and used them for fire lighters.
The cabbage tree pictured here is growing on the banks of the Taylor River.
