Feathers

Feathers for the little one. A day old hatchling and the first as grebes hatch asynchronously so tomorrow there may be with luck another.

Grebes are the only birds which eat feathers which form pellets so that the indigestible bits of fish etc can be regurgitated. 

He was fed fish however and it was a hoot. There we had dad or mum with fish and he had no clue at all. He knew it was food but just didn't know how to deal with it and it kept dropping. The parents were patient .......
