Passing through Killarney

Just back from a rather odd few days in Kerry where things didn't quite pan out as planned!
First we received the sad news that my uncle had finally slipped away - he was ready to go but nonetheless, the gap he has left behind is a large and significant one.

We stayed in the The Phoenix  B&B and veggie restaurant and the deal was that I would take Lorna and Billy on a well walk in exchange for a night's b&b - fair swop.  Pix of that coming later, for the three wells chosen were all looking impressive in fabulous surroundings.

The B&B was lovely but we had a rather odd experience in the middle of last night! At around half midnight we were woken by a terrible screeching and two cats had climbed through our window and proceeded to have an enormous fight! Himself leapt up and has now re-injured his back which had only just recovered from our climbing a mountain the other day. This morning he was in pain and could hardly move so we abandoned all extra well hunting and made our way home.

Kerry, in spite of somewhat mixed weather, was looking glorious - the mountains are much bigger than in Cork and I just had to leap out and take the odd pic as we travelled home.
This is passing through Killarney.
Himself is now taking it very easy and I hope will feel a bit more comfortable tomorrow.
