Broadsea

Broadsea, or Braidsea as it is known locally is an older settlement than Fraserburgh and retains a distinct character. It is now part of the burgh of Fraserburgh. Unlike most North East fishing villages houses face the street rather than being gable end to it - and to the sea.

The village overlooks Fraserburgh Harbour.

The title ' Constable of Broadsea' was created by the 11th Lord Saltoun who was developing Fraserburgh during the 17th century. The title was bestowed upon the head of the Noble family who were the dominant and most influential family Broadsea inorder to curry their favour and cooperation.
