Punta San Vigilio, Lake Garda

Today, a trip on the Lake Garda ferry from Sirmione to Gardone Riviera. Here, the ferry is passing Punta San Vigilio where the lake starts to narrow.

Extra is the bow section of the cruiser Puglia, which makes a surreal sight in the Vittoriale degli Italiani, where the Italian poet and novelist Gabriele d'Annunzio lived from 1922 until his death in 1938.

The ship, on which Tommaso Gulli met his death in the waters of Spalato, was donated to d’Annunzio by the Marina Militare in 1923.
