Cheeky Blackbird

This blackbird was building a nest in our Buddleja (I mentioned this plant yesterday and the day before already). Just a metre away from our balcony, we can almost touch it.
The camera didn't scare it away, especially not because I used the remote operation feature on a mobile.
It was great to see how diligent the bird worked, and the skills she had. She was using her whole body to give the nest the perfect shape.

Tonight the nest is empty, but if we are lucky we will be able to see the breeding and later the little chicken(s) yelling for food.
It may seem weird, building a nest so close to us. But the nest is hardly visible for other (heisting) birds or cats and martens.
