Church of St. Pierre

We had quite a long day out today, visiting two villages on the Dordogne.  This beautiful church is on Domme and stands near the edge of the river. It  was refurbished in the 20th century having originally been built around 12th to 16th C.  The river is very wide and fast flowing at this point and after a wander around the town we headed to a much older town with yet again another castle; it may have been le Bugue - in the extras.  This town was also on a river, la Vezere, and was also on a very steep hill - for defense I presume.  We took our time climbing up to the ramparts, but were well rewarded with the views and the restaurant and the gift shops, where I bought presents for everyone since I hadn't been on holiday for a few years.
