One chance!

We were down to our allotment today, tidying up, removing weeds etc.
Lots of red dead nettles but they don’t sting and they’re easy to remove. Also unusual in that their stems are square!
I thinned out my carrots a little, always risky as that is when the dreaded carrot fly can strike.
I managed to get a photo of this great spotted woodpecker. They always seem to be so timid and the click of the camera shutter is enough to scare them away and that is what happened today.
