Isambard Kingdom Brunel 1806 - 1859.
Probably the finest engineer in the industrial age.
The statue is in Swindon town centre where The Great Weston Railway was established and many steam locomotives were built.
He was also responsible for SS Great Britain build up the road in Bristol where it now resides in the dock where it was built.
His achievements are many in various fields and it has to be remembered that he died at just 53.
