A Peaceful Place To Be

After checking the tides first thing we headed up to Lindesfarne (Holy Island). None of us had visited before and we all really liked it. I can imagine when the island is cut off by the tides and the day visitors have left it is a very special and peaceful place to be.

We wandered around Lindesfarne Priory ruins and then left Dad having a coffee in a pub while we walked out to the castle and around the peninsula. We stopped for some lunch before we headed back off the island over the causeway before the tides came back in again.
