Wearing purple...

By 60plus

The tension was mounting...

...would the rain stop by 11 o'clock?
...could we get our walk in in time?
...would we make it to the top, or would it be too windy?
...would the waterproofs stay in the rucsacs?

The main blip is from the col half way up Pen y Ghent, looking over to Ingleborough and Whernside!
The rain did stop by 11, and though it was very gusty at the top we did summit ;)
The waterproofs came out of the rucsacs though - see extras - but not for rain, just because it was chilly and windy...

Pen y Ghent is the lowest of the Three Peaks, but today's walk was plenty for me - nearly 7 miles and 500m of ascent.

We also picked up our soft cheese from The Courtyard while we waited for the rain to stop, and spent a fortune buying some more - a good salesperson, who kept encouraging us to taste different cheeses...
