Northern Isles Day 9

Day 9

One thing is for sure and that is Shetland’s weather is never boring. It doesn’t just change daily - it changes hourly. It wasn’t long after our lovely sunny walk last night they the clouds rolled in, quickly followed by a night of rain.

I had a coffee date with fellow Blipper Tweedy, also here on holiday. She had given me lots of ideas for walks and places of interest to visit so it was great to meet her in person at last. We both commented on how we’d met blippers in real life, including being called by our blip names from across streets. Here she is!

Meanwhile Mr C went to Tesco which disappointingly had no black peppercorn crisps. It did have tonic and a lemon though, so all is not lost. Oh and a Guardian - lots to read today about resignations and Sunak and Javid trying to salvage their reputations in order to go for the leadership. Had they had an real integrity they’d have gone months ago.

We crossed the 60 degrees north line, moving south to the park for St Ninian’s Isle, overlooking the perfect tombolo beach, which we can just about see through the gloom of mizzle. When it faired a bit we walked over it to see the chapel and around the bird cliffs. Sadly we saw a great skua pecking at the remains of a dead gannet on the beach.

I have no wifi signal at the van so am posting my blip from the tombolo beach. Another 4 miles today
