The price of progress

For many years this spot had some lovely homes nestled in among beautiful trees and shrubs. A beautiful, quiet neighborhood.  Recently the houses demolished, the trees and shrubbery bulldozed down, this area is set to become a small community of very upscale, modern looking houses. It is sad to me to see more and more of this as I navigate through the areas around my long time home. The price of progress? The pain of progress?
