Celebration dinner

We had nothing booked for today, so we had a leisurely start to the day, including poached eggs (normally just a Sunday treat) - good job as we missed lunch!  It was, after all, a special day for W.

Then, late morning, a phone call from an Estate Agent "Are you still interested in viewing property X?"  "Yes, definitely"  "Can you get there today - it's the last day of viewings, because they want a quick sale?"  It was a property near Athlone that we had enquired about viewing next Monday, when we'll be based a little further north.

Quick scramble to bring up Google Maps and see how long it will take to get there - it's a long drive, but we can do it.

So, a 260 mile round trip to view a property which we like a lot, which is better placed than many.  BUT they want an early offer.  It was nice, but not so nice that we would drop all plans for viewing other properties, so I fear that by the time we have seen a few more of the properties on our list, and might be ready to make an offer, it will have gone to someone else.

Before setting off for the return journey we stopped for an early dinner at a bar/restaurant - clearly, they are more focussed on the lunchtime trade, as we just got there before the kitchen closed.  As you can see, we dined in solitary splendour.  It was a nice enough meal - though a bit basic for a celebration..

Once back to our lodgings, after stopping off to charge up in Fermoy, we had to fight with the cheap printer we had brought, to persuade it to link to the WiFi so that we could print up a document to sign and send back to our conveyancer in the UK.  It was gone midnight before I got to bed.
