A butterfly!

I hardly ever get the chance to blip a butterfly, but today was the day. A Small Heath Butterfly - I think.

We were visiting Bowber Head Farm, Ravenstonedale, as it has been an open week for walking in the hay meadows. Now owned by Cumbria Wildlife Trust the meadows are some of the few flower-rich upland hay meadows that still exist. Not the best time to visit as most of the flowers are finished, but it was surprising just how many flowers and grasses there were when you looked. Lots of butterflies too.
