Every Picture Tells .....

KWVR

FRIDAY

A trip over to Oxenhope and to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Today was a "Diesel and Ale Day" with two locomotives working the line.

I find it hard to believe that these two locomotives were built in the same decade.

The main blip shows 37 075. A class 37 Diesel Electric introduced as part of British Railways modernisation programme in 1959.  It arrived at KWVR in 2012 and is the largest diesel on the railway.

The extra shows a steam locomotive 78022 which was built in 1954. It arrived at KWVR in 1975 but restoration was not completed until 1992.
