Taking the strain . . .

A couple of days ago Mrs W found a recipe for a ‘Crispy potato bake with bacon and sausage’ and I agreed to risk it for our dinner.

Part of the instructions were to make a beurre noisette (browned melted butter) and strain it through kitchen towel.  You have to put the kitchen towel in a sieve, don’t you?  Perhaps Mrs W’s choice of sieve was not the best.

At least she has given me a subject for a Saturday.  Pity it wasn't last week.

The ‘bake’ was excellent, hardly a trace of plastic.

One bit of silliness finally got sorted this morning.  Pauline’s medicine that should have been delivered in April finally turned up.  My rants over the past two days tell the story.  The best of it is they have treated the delivery as a new drug and sent a welcome pack – which includes a full page on how to make complaints . . .

Tec note – umpteen shot focus stack again, subject lit by one Cree torch held in retort stand.
