A monster fly.

This enormous fly, about an inch long (25mm), was warming itself in the sun this morning.  I think it is a Dark Giant Horsefly (Tabanus Sudeticus).  To give you an idea as to how big this was look to the left of the image where you can see the out of focus remains of a hoverfly that is about the same size as the jaws of this insect.
