A Tasty Northumberland Morsel...

It's been a glorious summer's day - sunny and warm but not too hot with an occasional mild cooling breeze. So we decided to head off into rural Northumberland, to Ingram and the Breamish Valley.

We started off with a picnic by the river, which gave Granddog Oona (and two sons & wife/partner) much fun splashing around in the water. Then we walked up to the Linhope Spout waterfall. Owing to all the foliage it wasn't possible to get a photo showing the whole fall, but the extra shows its base.

The photo of the waterfall was going to be my main blip until I looked at the photos I also took of a grey wagtail by the river - enjoying a tasty morsel. It then pipped the waterfall to the main blip shot.

By the time we got home it was a bit late to start cooking, so we decided on a Chinese takeaway - a delicious way to end a lovely day. It was particularly special as it was our second-to-last full day with Son#1, with his wife and Oona, before they set off on their journey to start their new life in Canada.
