Metal Flowers

Image inspired by this lovely poem about the love of two homeless people as viewed by society, yet seem happy despite their destitution …I’ve just quoted its ending but worth a Google if you your interested.

“I look out of that window and I see two flowers
Made of metal with stained and unwashed petals
But they were beautiful
The bus took off and my eyes locked on as they faded into the cement
They faded into that gray skyline
the flowers disappeared into the city
They were invisible again
Maybe I’ll see them one day
but until then I know that love
Even beneath the garbage and cement it still exists
I know that those two metal flowers still exist”
