Kete..

is a traditional Maori basket, usually woven from flax.  This kete, by local weaver Anna Hayes is part of an exhibition marking Matariki, the beginning of the New Year in the Maori lunar calendar.  It is woven not of flax but using strips of paper, an upcycled map which can be more easily seen in the first extra and is a work of art.
I have included Anna's description of her work in the extras and have also tagged for Mono Monday - square   Thank you to laurie54  for hosting
