Red Bug

This Mirid bug is rather unimaginatively named red bug, especially as they can be all shades of orange, through red to black. They feed on aphids and small insects.

I've been looking closely at this clump of thistles which is where I found yesterday's fly, skipper butterflies and the marbled white. I've seen a very tiny, very busy, black and white bee plunging itself into the flowers. It moves so fast that it's difficult to get a decent shot of it, particularly one showing it face on. I think it might have white on the lower part of its face. I'm not going to post until I get a good enough shot and can identify it.
