"The Great Marquess" Steam Engine.

Built in 1937 for the LNER for use on the Scottish West Coast line to Fort William and Mallaig, this class K4 engine is pretty powerful for its size. She was today hauling a portion of the "Great Britain VI" railtour back over her old stamping ground. MaggieD and I caught up with her at Culross then here, just outside Alloa and a little later just south of Stirling as she headed for Glasgow and on to the West Highland Line.
Although we are getting some sun between the showers, that wind is still quite unpleasant and I will not be venturing out in shirtsleeves quite yet. However, there are some tasks in the garden that I may deal with this afternoon.
