Scraggy

I think we now live in an era where it is entirely acceptable to make up words. Some times you look at a web site or a sign and you see a word and think,"Is that right?" I saw "Constructional services" in a local news paper advertisement a while back and thought it didn't quite scan right but that is how the man wanted to describe his business so it must a be a real word.

That is long winded justification there for the use of the title above. What I like about this word is that it somehow sounds like it means. A few days earlier I noted The Wren's affection for such onomatopoeic terms (Oxford English or not).

Lucy is such a bad design for the Upper Inverroy hill side. She chases Bob and Caley, the teflon labradors, through bracken and brambles and the yellow boys come out the other side without a twig attached and she emerges dragging a bramble bush. As you will gather Lucy is on holiday with us for a couple of days. Her exercise requirements are not so demanding as that of Bob, Bruce and Caley and today's antics with the labradors will keep her settled till Saturday now. There will be some light duties on Friday.

Any way after the walk she looked decidedly Scraggy.
