Life through the lens...

How cud you!

Sorry for this pun!!
But met Mr and Mrs cow in a farm barn when we were out on our walk today.
Not sure what they are, but could be Short horns, which is one of the oldest recognised breeds in the world, and originates in Northeastern England.

Any how they were a bit disgruntled when we all walked past , and interrupted, them chewing their cud!

Did you know that dairy cows spend almost 8 hours chewing cud, for a total of 30000 chews a day!

Our walk today was from Golden Acre Park, to Eccup reservoir, through Bramhope, to Pauls Pond, and back to the Park.
Mostly through farmland.
Weather was dull and a bit mizzly most of the time, but quite warm.

Lovely to see all the lambs. Tried some photos, but they wouldn't keep still!
Bounding about all over the place!
Rescued one little lamb that had somehow got into another field, and mother and lamb were very distressed.
After about 20mins finally managed to get the two reunited.

Finished off with tea and vanilla slice in the café.

Should sleep well again!
