Götheborg

A distinguished visitor has come to town, to say the least. East Indiaman Götheborg is new, yet old: its blueprints are from 1738, and constructed using 18th century methods.

Sound daunting already? Now try to source 10 tons of ropes and trusses. Out of hemp. In an age of steel wires. Only a handful of artisans these days can actually do this.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting aboard before, and it’s a beauty inside as well.
