Feathered Visitor

Our friend left today after the standard breakfast of two poached eggs on toast.  Tomorrow I might do scrambled eggs.  Yesterday afternoon ten eggs where collected!  We sent him home with a dozen eggs.  The farm manager called in and had a coffee.  On Monday him and the forester will do a chainsaw job to clear some fallen trees.  Tomorrow we will go into Masterton to deliver the load of manuka firewood to a woman who has a tiny home with a tiny firebox.  The forester spent the morning cutting the wood to 25 cm lengths.   We know one person who lives  in Masterton and today found out they are a neighbour of the woman getting the firewood.  New Zealand is a village.  This is a favour for our friend who lives on the next door farm.  The forester loves cutting firewood!  We should also be able to get our second booster shots.
The blip is one of the several fantails who flit around the house catching invisible insects on the wing.  They like checking out the eves of the house.  I liked it being obscured by the foliage.

Come On Up To The House    Tom Waites

Well, the moon is broken and the sky is cracked
Come on up to the house
The only things that you can see is all that you lack
Come on up to the house . . .
Does life seem nasty, brutish and short
Come on up to the house
The seas are stormy and you can't find no port
Got to come on up to the house, yeah
You gotta come on up to the house
Come on up to the house
The world is not my home I'm just a-passing through
You got to come on up to the house, yeah . . .
