Bums on Seats

Fetternear is just outside Kemnay in Aberdeenshire.
It has a business centre, a few farms, a couple of churches plus a Bishops Palace. I am guessing that the population is around the hundred mark which certainly beats the Aberdeenshire village of Lost which at the last count had 25 inhabitants who are forever having to phoning the local bobbies to report the theft of road signs bearing the name of the place.

The original Bishops Palace was burned down during the 1745 rebellion and only the shell of the original building remains. The farms and business centre easily survived the onslaught of the "Butcher Cumberland" who gave the infamous "no quarter now" order to the government troops at Culloden although hundreds of Jacobite's and many innocent onlookers were slaughtered in the resulting bloodbath.

The local churches seem to have fared badly as well though as this shot of empty seats at St John the Evangelist graphically illustrates ...
