Life through the lens...

Lunch.

Hunters of Helmsley do the most enormous beef sandwiches. Layer upon layer of succulent pink beef. Just a touch of horseradish. Absolutely delicious. So big we have half each.
So along with an enormous custard slice for me, and a slice of Morocann Orange Cake for MrC that was lunch sorted.
The flowers in this town are definitely the best I have seen anywhere.

In the morning we had a walk through Duncombe Park starting along the River Rye.
We were very concerned as the river was completely dry. However about half a mile further on it was running as normal, although the level was quite low. It appeared at one point to go under the stones. Never seen that before.
A lovely 3 1/2 mile walk, which took us back through the parkland and past Duncombe Park itself. Lovely to see some dippers chasing one another along the river. ( extra collage)

Then after lunch sat on some picnic benches, we visited Helmsley Castle.
Never been before and found it very interesting. See collage.
As internet is so bad can’t write anymore about it I’m afraid.

Another lovely day. Still warm, and some sunshine. Just an odd shower while we were in the car. 26C when we got back to the caravan, but soon cooled down to 2OC.
