from a wonderful event at our Crystal Cove State Park. The Speaker Series featured the book: "The kindness of color", the story of two families and Mendez, ET AL. V. Westminster, the 1947 desegregation of California Public Schools.. Members of the family wrote the book and were on the speaker panel. It shows how people can change the rules and that it all starts from the people. In this story a Japanese American Family during the internment of WWII, the kindness of a Hispanic family, a white banker, a jewish lawyer, who was son of Russian immigrants. A must read for those who are genuinely interested in breaking past the color barriers of our society to authentically see the goodness and kindness in the people around us. This is America.
