Simonsides

After a few Saturday chores MrM drove us across to Rothbury, with the intention of buying - or at least trying on - some shoes at Rogersons, where they sell good quality shoes often at much reduced prices. He needs some shoes for every day use, and I need to replace my walking boots, which have seen better days and now leak horribly!

It was a lovely drive on a hot sunny afternoon, past the Simonside hills. But we'd failed to realise that the Rothbury Traditional Music Festival was on, and the whole town was absolutely heaving. We've been to the festival a few times pre-pandemic, and the town was never as crowded as it was today! Not one car-park space to be had anywhere, and no roadside parking either. So we aborted our shopping trip and MrM drove us home by a very scenic route - shoes can wait until another day...

To the local pub in the evening where we joined John C for a meal and a couple of drinks. A very pleasant evening!
