At last a Kotare graces our garden

What a wonderful sight! I've lived here nearly 8 years and this is the first time I have seen a Kotare visit.

It's always lovely to see them, especially when their iridescent feathers have a chance to shine. They seem rather calming as they sit and watch. This one stayed for about 10 minutes giving us a good chance to admire her before she flew off through the trees.
