Putti

Putti is the Italian word for cherub.

There were putti as well as tornadoes flying around last night.
All is calm tonight.
Another system is coming in tomorrow.

The gold putti in the picture is from Dale Chihuly's 55-foot glass tower at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and it's one of his signature pieces. There are three putti hidden among 2,100 pieces of blown glass in the structure which weighs 20,000 pounds.

The tower took 14 days to install. Each piece was installed one at a time starting at the top. It takes nine hours to clean once a year by a wall climber.

It's delicate and imposing, full of wonder and full of shapes that seem to be twisting in the wind. . .

. . . a perfect place for Chihuly's largest museum collection.
