Heat wave

The country has gone into panic mode! Yes, the temperatures are high, but no more than people are used to in the tropics and they survive. The news bulletins can tall of nothing e,se but the temperatures. But we did as we were told, closed all the windows and curtains and shut ourselves in for the whole of the day. It was horribly airless. When we lived in the tropics we used to have the windows open and the curtains closed, and that let in a bit of air. Norman was convinced we should do as suggested. I lasted until 8pm and then I went outside to do my watering. It was still hot, but at least there is some air.
It wasn’t until then that I thought of my blip. The leaves of the iris caught the late sun.
