Another day, another Midge Orchid

When you look at this image, you're going to wonder why I made such a fuss about it yesterday. It's not that fantastic a subject really - not the most photogenic plant in the world. But it's a beautiful sunny day, and I was determined to get it.

It's a tiny little thing, and if there wasn't a marker by the plant we'd never have found it again. It's a midge orchid (Corunastylis sp 'Adelaide Hills'), another Australian native. There seem to be quite a few midge orchids, and strangely they are all named for the places they are found. They are all similar, yet different. And they are all only found within their own very restricted area.

Definitely better in large.
