Nature Diary, Cacti and Succulents

Some of my collection have been loving the hot weather. 
Today we had some crashing of thunder followed by a really heavy downpour of rain. I brought the plants in to keep them safe from being hammered by the rain and I was soaked to the skin in so doing!
It's been a pleasant few days where we live on the south coast of England with heat being nowhere near as hot as I remember it being in 1976 when the heatwave was so intense our water had to be collected from stand pipes in the street. We've also had the gift of a pleasant sea breeze drifting through the house for the last few days. Had we not watched anyTV we might have assumed everything was normal and thought of it as being a really nice summer.
