Coming Through

Speedboat going under the bridge to Faro Island at high tide. Got a walk in and then headed home.

Thought we'd celebrate our anniversary another day, as needed to get home with sun still on panels to sort water problem, but decided to eat lunch in a new place (Espelho d'Água in Beja), looking out over an artificial lake. The food was excellent, so decided to have a glass of wine with it and toast our 36 years after all.

Got home to no electricity and no water, but Mike rushed around and sorted it, and I've been cutting back dead plants (been quite a few days in extreme heat with no water) and watering, and making a start on the unpacking.

Got invited to Leonor's birthday, but I just couldn't face it (too hot and too tired), so Mike paid our respects, and they kindly sent some cake back because they remembered it was our anniversary.

So weird that it's been hotter in England today than here; the difference is that there it's going right down tomorrow, whereas here, it´ll carry on going up, and being around 40C for the foreseeable future, and no rain predicted at all.

Gratefuls:
- being married to Mike all these years, not always smooth sailing, but have never wanted to be with anyone else, and we've had a lot of good times together
- that we have electricity and water, and that Mike worked out what the problem was
- that all our trees seem to have survived, and the cats OK, though noticeably thinner
