Soğanlı Valley

Today's excursion was to one of our fav. destinations - Soğanlı Valley.  Always quiet, peaceful - very few folk visit this area, we don't know why, as it is utterly beautiful. So of course, once again choosing one photo isn't possible.  We walked up the hill to the church, as last year, had a drink and gozleme (Turkish pancake) in the garden restaurant and visited the souvenir doll making ladies (main pic).

Driving home we stopped again at the 'three sisters' rock to have ice cream and admire the view before dinner and an evening at the hotel with Murat, Jerry and Krystal for company in the bar.

Soğanlı Valley is located in Yeşilhisar district, Kayseri Province, Turkey, in the southeastern part of the region of Cappadocia. The valley contains several rock-cut churches and other rock-cut buildings, carved from the soft tuff stone of the Cappadocian landscape. Wikipedia
