Larkin about

We went to Aberystwyth today. Some of us were under dressed when we got out of the cars. It was cold and there was a blustery wind.
We went for a walk round the castle, a visit to the play area, a Turkish lunch (fabulous and we had the place all to ourselves), ice creams from the Italian Welsh gelato parlour, and coffee from Starbucks. After another visit to the play area we went on the beach. Some ventured into the sea. We had a tent and it was warmer by then. Beer wine cake and biscuits were produced. I felt like one of the Larkins. I prefer holidays designed by our children to ours with our flasks of tea. Aberystwyth  has a dramatic war memorial on the headland. Extra. We drove home along the valleys and through Devil’s Bridge.
